It's a trashy/guilty-pleasure romance that passes the time.
Synthia (Syn) is a witch who, along with her friends/coven Adam and Larissa, go on assignments, kill shit, fight the supernatural, etc. She then gets an assignment she can't refused by a super gorgeous alpha-male fae named Ryder. Much smut ensues. She feels betrayed by her guild leader Alden who makes her take on the assignment for good reason, or so he claims. OOOOH.
I didn't like syn as a character. She was stubborn to a fault that made it almost not worth reading. However, so was Ryder. The femenist in me wants to beat him bloody and tell him to STFU. I'll admit that if it wasn't for the pretty plot, I would have dropped it.
This book leaves a lot of threads unravelled, but all the answers come out in the second book and it blows your mind. Like: "WTF IS THIS FOR REAL??" type of answers. The second book is better I swear. It's going to get at least a 3.5 star rating and I'm only 60% done.
Also Can we just take a second to say that the cover is terrible and creepy as fuck? okay awesome.
