I'M SORRY OKAY?? I DON'T KNOW WHY I READ A BOOK WITH SUCH A HORRENDOUS TITLE EITHER. All, I can say is that the book was better than title, if even a little.
Samantha, Sam, is a Sevante, the lowliest of low vampires. She was turned a time ago and hates her master who has essentially turned her into a prostitute and slave for his own power gain. She is then offered a choice to compete for a spot on one of the Master Vampire's combat teams. Unfortunately for her, Jared who is judging the audition and training the new team is a sexist asshole. Fate has it that because of his sexist ways, Sam ends up co-captaining his team instead of just being on the team. Why? She has a power that no other sevante has. A power and control that will make her team strong. IN YO FACE.
What follows is the back of fourth of Jared's sexist quips and Sam's retaliation as they try to get their team ready for battle and fall in love in the process.
This was a funny light read book. I chuckled quite a few times. However, it really isn't anything that great. Yes, I will read the sequel, but it's not on the top of my list type of feeling. It was just frustrating to read such sexist views, DESPITE KNOWING THAT'S WHAT I WAS IN FOR. Fortunately, Sam Kicks ass and takes names. She changes that view through hard work.
The love triangle. Sigh. It will annoy you, but it is entertaining. Maybe its because I've just resigned myself to the fact that most romance YA or NA books are going to have it in some shape or form, so I'm slowly starting to just...enjoy isn't the right word...tolerate? Okay, tolerate them. I can't say how other readers will take it, but if you really don't like them...this probably isn't your cup of tea, though it IS resolved near the end. So there's that.
