I was so blessed to be able to read this book before hand. It is one of my favorite series and I was kind of putting it off because I didn't want it to end. But here I am. At the end...
Immortal Heights picks up where The Perilous Sea left off. Iola and Titus are in the desert trying to escape the the forces of Atlantis. Things become more abysmal when Kashkari gets a vision of Iolanthe's future.
Well, it's basically a long roller coaster of trying to evade Atlantis for at least half the book. Then Titus feeling sorry for himself (???) for another good chunk. It's definitely my least favorite book in the series. While the author evaded any Deux ex machina moments, she kind of dug herself into a non-escapable hole with the shitty romance. There was no description at all. Now, I'm not asking for smut or even adult romance, but these fade to black moments have got to stop. I KNOW Sherry Thomas can do better than that because she writes romance novels for a living. Give me more than "he kissed her." The end. NO. Unacceptable. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SUMMER VILLA SCENE FOR A LONG TIME.
Other than its lack of romantic development, the story was endearing. You get to know Kashkari and Amara on a more personal level and really feel for them.
If you've read the first two books, read the last. It's not the greatest, but it'll leave you feeling satisfied enough. Though, I would love a short novella of the future during and after the epilogue written from Titus' perspective.
