Absolutely solid romantic fantasy set in medieval times. I have really been craving all 3 genres bound into one fantastic book and Warprize did not disappoint.
Lara is a princess of Xy and in an agreement to end a war, she is given to the Warlord Keir as a Warprize, described by her brother-the king- as pretty much akin to being a sex slave or something. A healer at heart, Lara is loathe to begin the Warprize, but does so for the sake of her people. When she enter's Keir's camp, she is stubborn as possible demanding that she be able to heal those who have been hurt, all the while finding that these so-called barbarians are not what she once thought they were. Especially blue eyed hottie Mchosters Keir. If any of you watch Game of Thrones, Keir gives of a Khal Drogo type of feelimo. In this book, Keir attempts to meld two cultures that are vastly different. Neither is necessarily good or bad, but he faces hardship as tradition is hard to change.
Lara is stubborn to a point that annoys me, and I fear will only get worse in the second book, because let's be real. When does the main character not get worse in the second book. However, I digress. Read this book. In short: it is da shit.
