Nalini Singh weaves a tale an entertaining tale about one strong but broken girl and and an angel who needs a little dose of humanity. Elena is Guild hunter who brings in rogue vampires. However, this wasn't her chosen field, she was born a hunter. She is able to sent vampires and emotions in the area. For this, Raphael, the archangel of Manhattan needs her to track the most devious of angels. Both of them find something they did not know they were looking for in each other.
I really enjoyed this book. I need something sexy and entertaining after finals and this was just perfect. A quick read with loyal friends and a burning love story that isn't burning insta-love. That rare these days in urban fantasy. I'm just saying. The only downside to this story was the predictability of the plot. Evil villainy villain with a villainous plot. I would have also liked to see more of the loyal best friends Sara and Ransom. Hopefully, that'll be upcoming in the sequel.
I really enjoyed how Singh really removed the humanity with immortality. So many stories portray it as something shiney and sought after, but this Angel's blood really emphasizes how out of touch one gets with the world and emotions when they live too long.
Overall, a great quick read that I will be following up soon enough
