Honestly, there is no way I would have finished this book had I not listened to the audiobook. The narrator, Kate Simses, is PHENOMENAL.All that repetition, she gives it voice. The voice of someone who is desperately trying not go insane, but has already tipped over the edge in her 3 years of isolation and almost 17 years of never being touched by another human.
Truely, the writing was good, the story honestly nothing special in the realm of dystopia, but oh goodness, the narrator has a talent. If nothing else, listen to the audio, Simses brings Juliette to life like nothing you can imagine; her insecurities, her insanity, her discomfort, her yearning. Each emotion each feeling, each thought has its own unique voice.
On a tangent, I think Adam is boring AF. I don't usually cheer for the villain, but I kind of need to in Shatter Me. Warner is just much more interesting and I want to see more of him and his type of crazy. Does that make me a psychopath? probably. *shrugs*
Juliette and Adam are brought to a place that is safe and it seems that EVERYONE wants Juliette for their own purposes. Including this Castle fellow who has been tracking Julliete for ages. He could be good, meant to being down Warner and his terrible people, but he could be a shadow of what the hunger games and power hungry rebellion stood for too. More corruption, more power to those who abuse it, etc. We'll see.
Definitely started the next book, audio-obvi- and hope it doesn't fall into second book syndrome.
