Mica is a mimic who has graduated from a prestigious mimic School. All she has ever wanted is to be a spy for her kingdom. However, the higher-ups have other plans for her. She is sent off to be the mimic of the princess herself who happens to be a rather busy and snooty person. Underneath It all Mica finds that she was placed here for a reason and things are not what they seem at the palace. Throw-in a dashing and mysterious young man and courtly intrigue and you've got yourself fabulous YA novel.
This book is fast to start up but does get a bit slow towards the middle with Mica bemoaning her fate as a not-spy. The princess does grow on you as you find that there is more to her than you think. Also, the romance is not strong in the book but there is potential and Rivet sets up for book 2 with all the proess of a seasoned writer who knows how to torture her fans slowly.
Overall an amazing read I recommend for those of all ages looking for a bit of magic and adventure.
