I was so ready to love this book. Interesting plot, just not really carried out well. ARGH.
The history (the first half) is so jagged. As a reader you're constantly being thrown around from one background to the other. Also our MC, Twylla makes this big deal about being a Sin Eater, yet their importance really isn't hammered in. The concepts and what we were meant to feel were disconnected. I didn't even make it to the romance, which is saying something because I always pull through to see if it'll redeem the story, but nah.
I want to say this though, Twylla herself isn't a bad character, the writing just leaves much to be desired.
