Willow Kent is 16 years old and the daughter of local tavern owners in a moner's town. Until one day she is found to be far more important than she thought she was. When Commander Reece comes from the advanced land called the core, Willow's life is turned topsy turvey as she is forced to leave behind all she has ever known and embrace a future she doesn't want.
I'll be honest, I was ready to give this book 3.5 stars. I really debated it considering that the beginning and middle really dragged for me. I was also frustrated with Willow's impulsive angry nature as well as her brash vocabularly, but I suppose it's a part of her lowly upbringing so I can't complain. So, why did I give it 4 stars? Well, listen here:

Seri is a goose girl whose people have been oppressed by the crown for over a century. Tempers are raised when the second Prince comes to stay on their land. There is a rumor that the royal family (aka the Blood) is destined...more like cursed to have only sons who must drink the blood of humans for sustenance. However, they will never be happy because the blood of each person they drink will taste terrible. That is, until a royal steps forward, who possess the ability to empathize and be kind, by the Gods, he will be granted an eterna whose blood is forever sweet. Seri is that person. Seri is the Eterna.
I rather enjoyed Queen of blood. granted, it was much too short which led to somewhat to an ugly lack development and in terms of world building AND character relationships. the all problems were solved in a deux ex machina way, which is pretty frustrating because the characters and plot have a lot of potential!! (think throne of glass series if Dorian just asked the king to be nice to his people after a bajillion years of cruelty and he just said "okay, sure, now get out of my sight, only son/princling.")
