My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Year two definitely lived up to expectations. It did suffer a little from second book syndrome, but overall was pretty cohesive. I'm just not a huge fan of the " I'm doing this to protect you"/ "it's for your own good" tropes. I was over it with New Moon ( ugh Bella), and I'm still over it 12 years later. Only consolation is that when Maddi gets her lemons, she goes full girl power and gets back up. Boys don't define her.
I love the girl power and friendship in this book. Seriously. The search for the Atlantean library continues, Asher is everywhere and nowhere at the same time. The Gods have a devious plan and only Maddi and her friends can stop it.
Fate will fight. But Maddi and co decide to fight back.
This book is a treat for anyone who has read the author's Supernatural Prison series. A certain dragon and her mate make an appearance.
we get some new characters that I'm sure will play a role in the finale, which I'm excited to see. We get some surprises near the end that you're gonna wonder how on Earth Maddi and Asher are going to come out victorious on the other side. Guess we'll just have to see. I can't wait for the year of Aqua!
