I am dead. This is my first book by Harmon and I hope it won't be my last. The author's writing is absolutely gorgeous, poetic, and so well thought out. I felt like the words were slipping off the pages and into images, that's how imaginative Harmon's prose is.
Bird and the Sword had all my favorite genres and tropes: YA/Fantasy/Romance with devlish ( but kind) princes, evil parents, and a magic system with persecution of Magic people.
With all that, how could I not fall in love with this book!?
Though I really did not enjoy Kjell as a character and I will likely not be reading the sequel which is about him. Now if it was about Boojhooni, that's a different story.
