Well, I read it for the plot...
This is Suzanne Wright after all, I should have known better. Ah well, on the the review!
Burn is about Harper, a Sphynx demon who ends up being the soulmate (essentially) of the most powerful and mysterious demon in their society, Knox.
Burn is equallyl Harper and Knox's story told in dual POV. The chapters aren't separated by POV, rather, each chapter has Harper and Knox's thoughts intermingling so you get both sides the entire time. I REALLY liked that.
Burn is what you would expect from a typical smut novel. ravaging and voracious sex scenes every 10 pages or so. It was a bit much for me. I kinda just went...AGAIN? There are only so many ways you can ravage someone and it started repeating enough that I got bored and tuned those parts. Also, ofc, Harper is a special snowflake who just surprises Knox with EVERYTHING she says! Her mind is a such an enigma, how enticing! (*rolls eyes into brain* )
I admit some of the lines are witty and had me laughing. Harper's family is especially hilarious and I loved every moment with them.
I think I'll read the next book, but I need a break before that from the copius amounts of sex. If you're looking for a sexy novel with more plot, I'd highly suggest Jeanine Frost's The Beautiful Ashes or even Suzanne Wright's Here be Sexist Vampires series.
